We are now recruiting a Local Study Associate Director, Feasibility Lead to join our team in Stockholm. This is a chance to play an important role in our cell therapy portfolio, using your operational insight, strategic thinking, and collaborative approach to help set studies up for success.

About the role

As Local Study Associate Director, Feasibility Lead, you will be at the heart of country-level feasibility for AstraZeneca's internally delivered cell therapy studies. You will help shape key decisions on study design, site selection, recruitment forecasting, and retention planning, ensuring that local insight translates into strong, realistic study plans.

You will also play an important role in local study delivery, leading cross-functional collaboration to ensure studies are progressed in line with timelines, quality expectations, and compliance requirements.

You will work closely with colleagues across Feasibility, Global Project Teams, Medical Affairs, Site Management & Monitoring, Site Partnerships, Patient Operations, and Study Management, as well as with investigators and site personnel externally. Your ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and bring people together around shared goals will be central to success in this role.

What you will do

Lead Local Study Teams to deliver study commitments to agreed timelines, quality, and compliance standards

Support country start-up and study oversight, including site identification, qualification, and essential document readiness

Maintain compliance and inspection readiness in line with AstraZeneca standards, ICH-GCP, and local regulations

Contribute to continuous improvement in feasibility, recruitment, and retention practices

Lead country feasibility activities for assigned cell therapy studies

Provide local insight to support study design, site selection, country allocation, and recruitment planning

Develop recruitment and retention strategies based on feasibility findings and delivery insights

Partner with local and global stakeholders to align on priorities, risks, and opportunities

Essential Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as life sciences, business management, or project management, or equivalent project management certification

Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including drug development processes

Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical study feasibility

Experience developing and delivering study delivery strategies and tactical or operational plans

Experience in patient and investigator recruitment and retention

Proven project and budget management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work

Strong stakeholder management, communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills in complex environments

Good knowledge of ICH-GCP, basic knowledge of GMP/GDP, and good understanding of local regulations and clinical study management

Good medical knowledge in relevant AstraZeneca therapeutic areas

Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritisation, and digital skills

Desirable requirements

Experience in cell therapy

Experience working with CROs, AROs, or external partners

Experience in new product development within the pharmaceutical industry

Experience developing study delivery strategies aligned to local regulatory objectives

Experience managing complex or cross-border projects

Ability to work effectively with remote collaborators, adapt positively to change, and influence stakeholders

A process innovation mindset, including the ability to identify opportunities for AI or digital tools to improve efficiency, quality, or innovation
