At Koenigsegg, innovation drives everything we do. As part of our Powertrain department, you'll work alongside passionate engineers developing world-leading technology for the next generation of high-performance vehicles.

We are currently looking for a Battery Algorithms Software Engineer to join our High Voltage and Battery team, where you will develop advanced algorithms and software for Koenigsegg's next generation of high-voltage battery systems.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced battery software for high-voltage systems, working with modelling, simulation, and software development. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the development process, from concept and testing to software integration and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for developing and validating battery algorithms and embedded software for high-voltage battery systems, supporting the full development cycle from battery modelling and algorithm development to software integration, testing, diagnostics, and vehicle-level validation.

You will:

Develop battery models and estimation methods based on cell and pack test data.

Develop and maintain algorithms for State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), State of Power (SoP), energy availability, and battery diagnostics.

Translate mathematical models and prototype algorithms into production-quality embedded C code.

Optimize algorithms for execution time, memory usage, numerical stability, and embedded hardware constraints.

Define software requirements, interfaces, diagnostics, acceptance criteria, and verification methods.

Develop test plans, set up test environments, and perform software and algorithm testing.

Analyze estimation errors and unexpected battery behaviour, and implement improvements to enhance algorithm performance and robustness.

Support BMS software integration, testing, release, and continuous improvement.

Develop and support OBD diagnostic functionality for battery systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.

Experience in battery modelling and SoX algorithm development.

Strong programming skills in C, preferably with experience in embedded or real-time systems.

Good understanding of lithium-ion battery behaviour, including OCV, internal resistance, temperature dependence, ageing, and power capability.

Ability to analyse large test datasets and translate physical battery behaviour into robust algorithms.

Experience with software testing, debugging, version control, and structured software development practices.

A systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving.

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across multiple engineering disciplines.

Experience with MATLAB/Simulink modelling and simulation.

Strong communication skills in English.

Meritorious experience:

Previous experience with automotive battery management systems (BMS) or electrified powertrains.

Experience using MATLAB and Simulink for modelling, algorithm development, data analysis, or model-based design.

Knowledge of estimation techniques such as Kalman filtering, observers, parameter identification, and adaptive algorithms.

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, so don't wait to apply. We look forward to receiving your application!
