About the School

Internationella Engelska Skolan Liljeholmen is a compulsory school for grades F–9 (preschool class to year 9) located in Midsommarkransen, close to both metro and bus transport. Founded in 2014, the school currently has over 120 staff members and approximately 1,200 students. About the Position

Internationella Engelska Skolan Liljeholmen is currently seeking a school caretaker. The role is a temporary contract through December 2026, with possibility for extension. The duties include:

• Ensuring the cleanliness of classrooms, hallways, offices, toilets and other areas within the school.
• Conducting minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as fixing leaky taps, changing light bulbs and repairing broken furniture.
• Taking care of the school grounds, including lawn maintenance, gardening and clearing leaves or snow from outdoor areas.
• Ensuring the safety and security of the school premises by monitoring access, maintaining secure doors and windows, and reporting any suspicious activities.
• Implementing safety procedures, such as fire drills, and maintaining safety equipment like fire extinguishers and alarms.
• Assisting in setting up and organising spaces for school events such as furniture, setting up audiovisual equipment, and ensuring the venue is clean and presentable.
• Overseeing the general maintenance of equipment and machinery within the school, such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness in accordance with hygiene standards.
• Promptly addressing any hazards or potential risks.
• Collaborating and communicating with school staff, administrators, and external contractors to address maintenance issues.
• Conducting regular inspections of the school premises to identify maintenance needs.
• Promoting and implementing environmentally friendly practices within the school, such as recycling programs.
• Conducting routine checks of facilities such as toilets, sinks and hand dryers to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Ensuring emergency exits are clear, fire extinguishers are in working order, and alarms are functional.

Your Profile

You have practical experience in facility maintenance or a skilled trade, along with strong problem-solving abilities and handiness. We hope you recognize the importance of building and maintaining good relationships with colleagues, students, and external contractors. You are motivated, structured, and able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. While prior experience in a school setting is an advantage, we value confidence, a proactive mindset, and the  ability to foster a safe, secure, and welcoming physical environment. As a visible adult on campus every day, you serve as a clear and positive role model for our students.
