We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Machine Mechanics team within Production Systems Hardware, part of the Production Engineering & Technologies department at Axis in Lund. In this role, you will design robust, cost-efficient mechanical solutions for the unique test and production systems used to manufacture Axis products.

Who is your future team?

At Production Systems Hardware, we develop the hardware for the machines that manufacture Axis products. We take solutions from initial concept all the way to fully tested and verified production equipment.

The Machine Mechanics team consists of four dedicated mechanical engineers who specialize in developing mechanical parts for the production systems used on Axis production lines.

What you'll do here as Mechanical Design Engineer

In the Machine Mechanics team, you will design, develop and deliver high-quality, robust and cost-efficient mechanical solutions for Axis' unique test and production systems. You will work from concept to verified product in cross-functional projects. The role involves a wide range of interfaces and gives you the opportunity to build knowledge across different technology areas.

In this role, you will:

Design, develop and improve mechanical solutions using the Creo 3D CAD system and the Windchill PDM system

Take an active part in development projects, with a focus on simplicity, scalability, repeatability and quality, to create the best possible production setup for Axis products

Work from concept to verified product in cross-functional projects

The role may include travel, mainly to our contract manufacturers around the world, for approximately 15 days a year.

Who are you?

You are structured and driven, with a natural commitment to seeing your deliverables through to completion. You enjoy working cross-functionally, you have an open mindset, and you help build a creative environment around you.

You are curious and innovative, and you enjoy communicating with and influencing others, especially when it comes to production engineering. If that sounds like you, we believe this is the place for you.

We'd love to hear that you have:

A bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering

At least 2 years' relevant experience of product development

Experience of 3D CAD, ideally Creo

Experience of 3D printing and of designing parts specifically for 3D printing

Very good communication skills in English

Communication skills in Swedish

Bonus points if you have any combination of:

Design experience from mechatronics and automation

Experience of designing and producing moving mechanics, and of designing aluminum parts for CNC machining

International production experience, or experience of developing production equipment

Experience of optics or metrology
