Job description:

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

We shape the world we want to live in!

Volvo Energy is a young company in the Volvo Group which supports customers in the electrical energy transition. Volvo Energy develops and commercializes competitive Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and provides customers with reliable solutions which optimize energy costs, operational resilience, and renewable energy integration.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team at Volvo Energy as Project Manager BESS installations.

What are we looking for in this specific role?

In this role, we are looking for an experienced project manager who can lead BESS installation projects from contract signature through energization, final acceptance, and handover. You combine strong project leadership with practical understanding of construction, electrical infrastructure, commissioning, and site execution.

You are a self-motivated and results-driven team player who creates structure in complex projects and works effectively with customers, contractors, suppliers, grid owners, authorities, and internal technical or project teams. You are comfortable taking ownership of scope, schedule, cost, risk, safety, quality, and stakeholder coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

Own project scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and execution, with regular reporting to project stakeholders.

Develop and maintain the integrated project schedule covering permits, supplier deliveries, civil and electrical works, grid owner activities, compliance testing, commissioning, and energization milestones.

Procure and manage installation, civil, and electrical contractors together with the design and Purchasing teams, ensuring execution according to approved designs, specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Serve as the primary point of contact for project execution, coordinating customers, grid owners, authorities, contractors, suppliers, aggregators, and other stakeholders.

Lead site activities during construction, commissioning, and testing, including contractor coordination, site safety, site rules, BAS-U responsibilities, FAT, transport, lifting, SAT, system integration, compliance activities, and energization.

Manage project risks, changes, interfaces, claims, variation orders, time extensions, and contractual milestones throughout execution.

Lead project close-out through punch list closure, final acceptance, customer and service handover, and delivery of required documentation and training.

Maintain a site presence aligned with project needs, particularly during critical construction, commissioning, testing, and energization activities.

Who are you?

Expected qualifications:

Degree in Engineering, or equivalent knowledge gained through professional experience.

Previous project management experience within energy, electrical infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects.

Experience in BESS, renewable energy, grid connection, or similar infrastructure projects, including installation and commissioning.

Understanding of project contracts, preferably ABT 06 and AB 04.

Self-motivated, structured, and results-driven, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage teams and partners in a changing project environment.

Fluent in Swedish and English.

Willingness to be present on site when required.

Meriting:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Experience acting as BAS-U.
